The NWPBD (North West Province Business Directory) is a shared portal business directory project that was initiated by the Department of Economic Development and Tourism (DEDT). It is now project managed by the NWDC (North West Development Corporation.
The goal of the project is to create a business database linked to a web portal that enables government, investment authorities and businesses to:
- Show case their products and services
- Encourage collaborative networking through easy access to information
- Provide visibility that would attract or encourage foreign and local investment opportunities
- Advertising opportunity for government, investment authorities and Businesses to advertise their products and services
- Access investment authorities with a comprehensive database
- To strengthen their mandate of promoting business activities in NW Province
The NWPBD already has 700 business registered on the site and is increasing. What sets the directory apart from others is the mere fact that business who would like to register will incur no cost when doing so. All that’s required is that the online registration form be completed and the business will be registered on the directory. It must be noted that the business must be fully operational in order to be registered on the directory. Once a business has submitted their registration form online, they will be assigned a username and password. With their username and password in hand businesses can update their profile at any time. A business profile on the NWPBD site consists of all necessary details of the business, as well as other details necessary to market a business accordingly.
